ECUADOR: Results of the second round of elections

●Daniel Noboa, at 36 years of age, becomes Ecuador’s youngest president.

● Guayaquil native and son of businessman and former presidential candidate Alvaro Noboa, his triumph constitutes the great surprise of this electoral process.

● His ideological tendency is right-wing, in line with commercial and business development.

● His political trajectory is short. He was provincial assemblyman in 2021, for the United Ecuadorian Movement; he presided in that legislative period the Economic Development Commission and the Interparliamentary Group of Friendship between Ecuador and the Russian Federation. In his role as assemblyman he did not identify with a specific political flag.

● He comes to the presidency backed by a coalition of movements with little relevance: People, Equality, Democracy (PID), and MOVER (former Alianza País).

● Holds 3 master’s degrees in political communication, public and business administration from The George Washington University, Harvard and Kellogg School.
