VERÓNICA ZAVALA

Veronica Zavala is an experienced independent consultant who has worked with various companies and organizations in Latin America. She has a strong banking, management, and development background and has successfully led diverse and talented teams in Washington, D.C., and other Latin American countries. Veronica is skilled at navigating complex political and social environments while always keeping the needs and objectives of her clients at the forefront of her work.

 

Veronica, originally from Peru, has a strong background in government, with experience as Minister of Transport and Communications from 2006 to 2008. She also held senior positions at the Inter-American Development Bank and the World Bank. Veronica has been in leadership roles on Audit and ESG committees of publicly traded companies.

 

During her career, Veronica served as Sector Manager for the World Bank from 2010 to 2011, as Executive Director for Colombia and Peru from 2008 to 2010, and as General Manager for the Inter-American Development Bank covering Mexico, Central America, Panama, the Dominican Republic, and Haiti.

 

In addition to her governmental and banking roles, Veronica has served as an independent director for companies such as ENGIE (energy generation), PROMED (medical equipment), and CALISTO COBRE (mining). She has also chaired the ESG committee for PROMED and CALISTO COBRE.

 

Veronica is also known for her advocacy for LGBTQ+ diversity. She is on the advisory board of Presente, an organization dedicated to promoting LGBTQ+ rights in Peru.
