LLYC consolidates its position in the global TOP 10 of M&A advisors

LLYC closes the first half of 2024 in the TOP 10 global M&A communications advisors by volume of transactions advised, ranking 9th, according to Mergermarket. During this period, the consulting firm advised on 66 transactions with a total value of $22.693 billion, placing it in the top 15 global ranking in terms of transaction value.

Among the main transactions  the consultant has participated in are BBVA’s takeover bid for Sabadell (€ 11.44 billion), Magyar Vagon’s takeover bid for Talgo (€930 million), Ardian’s sale of Monbake to CVC (€900 million), and the acquisition of a majority stake in Plenoil by Portobello and Tensile Capital (€400 million). Furthermore, this year, LLYC’s activity in the U.S. has been boosted by the acquisition of the firm Lambert, which has advised on major operations in this market, such as Clearlake Capital Group’s purchase of Synopsys ($ 2.1 billion) and Vestar Capital Partners’ closure of a continuation fund for Circana ($1.2 billion). As a result, LLYC also ranks 9th in the United States by volume of operations.

This semester has been a very active period in which LLYC has also participated in the progress of important transactions announced in 2023, including the closing of several transactions after overcoming regulatory authorization phases in the first months of 2024. This includes the purchase of Vodafone Spain by Zegona (€ 5 billion), Ardian’s offer to acquire a stake in Heathrow Airport (€ 3.259 billion), Generali’s acquisition of Liberty Seguros (€ 2.3 billion), TDR Capital and I Squared Capital’s takeover bid for Applus (€ 1.26 billion), and Antin Infrastructure’s takeover bid for 100% of Opdenergy (€ 1.218 billion). 

Additionally, Mergermarket’s league tables have also confirmed LLYC’s leadership in the geographical areas where the firm operates.  It has ranked LLYC in the Top 10 in Europe by value, occupying the 10th position (32 transactions valued at $20.193 billion), and in the Americas, occupying the 8th position (43 transactions valued at $4.005 billion) by volume.

These are the positions reflected in the official league tables that Mergermarket made public today after verifying the information on the transactions announced in the first half of the year submitted to the intelligence provider before July 12, 2024.

International leadership of FGS Global, LLYC partners

It is important to highlight the leadership of FGS Global, an international communication consultancy with which LLYC is associated and collaborates on cross-border projects. According to official Mergermarket data, the firm closes the first half of 2024 as number 1 worldwide in terms of both volume and value of transactions (172 transactions worth $303.724 billion).

LLYC’s outstanding positions in The Deal rankings

The rankings of the specialized publication The Deal have recently been published, in which LLYC has also achieved outstanding positions at a global level. The firm is ranked 7th in the global Private Equity ranking and 17th in the M&A ranking.
