LLYC continues to strengthen its Corporate Affairs team with the incorporation of Ander Gil. The former President of the Senate joins the structure as Senior Director of Public Affairs. From this position he will bring his knowledge in legislative and regulatory matters, as well as his extensive experience in negotiation and political consensus building to a key area of the consulting firm. He will report directly to Jorge López Zafra, Managing Director of Corporate Affairs in Europe.
Ander Gil has been a senator since 2011. In addition to being president of the Upper House (2021-2023), he was spokesperson for the Socialist Group (2017-2021). His incorporation is part of LLYC’s commitment to have the best and most diverse profiles to offer its clients quality solutions that respond to the current challenges of organizations in a complex European environment.
“I am starting a new exciting professional stage, together with a great team of men and women and from the hand of a leading firm in the sector in our country”, says Ander Gil.
In recent months LLYC has boosted its Public Affairs team, integrating prominent professionals such as economist Iñaki Ortega (General Director of the Madrid office), diplomats Pablo García-Berdoy (leader of Public Affairs in Europe) and Pablo Rupérez (expert in European affairs), Ángel Álvarez Alberdi (lawyer with extensive experience in politics, EU legislative processes and head of LLYC’s Brussels office), Ángels Chacón (lawyer and former advisor to the Generalitat of Catalonia), Carlos Parry (expert in public affairs with a focus on health and pharma), Paz Val (expert in the industrial sector and the challenges associated with the digital and sustainable transition), journalist Alejandro Manso and Joan Calabuig (former MEP and former regional secretary for the EU of the Generalitat of Valencia), among others.
The objective of these additions is to provide greater professionalism and expertise to the Public Affairs, Advocacy and Corporate Diplomacy activities within the firm. Thanks to the diversity of profiles, with political scientists, public policy experts and others from the legal, economic, technological, scientific and communications worlds, LLYC’s Corporate Affairs team expands its expertise to help different entities and corporations to protect and grow the value of their businesses.
“The arrival of Ander, continues to strengthen our Corporate Affairs practice, with the integration of key profiles in the current moment, where, in addition to understanding the context and permanently monitoring it, our clients also need to develop the influencing capabilities and credibility to be able to make and execute bold decisions. At this time of great transformations, listening to companies is key for us to be able, for example, to strengthen European competitiveness. We in the private sector also have to be up to the task, we have to know how to connect not only the narrative, but also the central axis of our proposals, with the public interest,” says Jorge López Zafra.
