The project “Transparent” by the LLYC Foundation is one of the 100 best ideas according to Actualidad Económica

“Transparentes” [Transparent] has been selected as one of the 100 best ideas by the Actualidad Económica supplement that is distributed in the daily EL MUNDO. The project was developed by the LLYC Foundation in collaboration with REDI (Business Network for LGBTI Diversity and Inclusion), for the Ámbar Project of the ‘26 de diciembre’ Foundation with the aim of raising the visibility of the barriers against the socio-labor employment of ‘transgender’ people in Spain and contribute to incentivize their recruitment.

The ’transgender’ group has an unemployment rate of 80% – the highest among the LGBTIQ community. The LLYC Foundation designed a communication strategy that responded to the challenge of giving the ‘transgender’ group a platform so that their voices can be heard and their reality made more visible to the business world and society in general.

“Transparent” was presented within the framework of the International Transgender Day of Visibility, at an event held in front of the job center in Plaza Pablo Ruiz Picasso in Madrid, where an artistic installation was created of 15 transparent chairs, representing the history of a group of transgender people, engraved with their name and the time they have been unemployed, who have suffered labor rejection first-hand due to their identity and the personal challenge of job-seeking.

“Transparent” stands out for its results and reach in the traditional and social media. 32 volunteers took part from the LLYC Foundation, under the leadership of David González Natal.
