LLYC has appointed Jorge Lopez Zafra as Corporate Affairs Managing Director for Europe, Iñaki Ortega as Managing Director of the firm’s Madrid office, and Pablo Garcia-Berdoy as the new Public Affairs Lead in Europe.

Lopez Zafra will head the newly created practice area of public affairs, which brings together corporate and financial communications, public affairs, sustainability and ESG, crisis and risk management, talent engagement, and “Executive,” LLYC’s continuing education practice area. Lopez Zafra will report directly to Alejandro Romero, Global CEO of the firm.

Iñaki Ortega, who previously held the position of Senior Director of “Executive,” has taken on the role of Managing Director of Madrid. This means he is now responsible for overseeing Madrid’s growth, which is the largest LLYC office in terms of earnings and workforce.

With this move, Ortega becomes a part of Luis Miguel Peña’s management team, who is LLYC’s CEO for Europe. The team also includes Maria Cura as Managing Director of Barcelona, Marlene Gaspar as Managing Director of Lisbon, and Paloma Baena as Senior Director of European Affairs. Baena is also leading growth in Brussels and the European Union.

The firm made further additions to its public affairs team. Pablo Garcia-Berdoy, who was Senior Advisor, has taken on the role of Public Affairs Lead for Europe. He will work closely with Joan Navarro and his Madrid, Barcelona, and Lisbon teams.

In this way, LLYC is transitioning towards a matrix organizational structure that combines the best technical, specialized, and project management practice areas under executive leadership positions to drive business expansion in all markets where the firm operates. All with one goal in mind: to offer enhanced services and solutions to our clients.

“These appointments show how dedicated we are to always improving our ability to be adaptable and effective,” said Luis Miguel Peña, LLYC Partner and Europe CEO. “They are talented and experienced professionals committed to innovation, providing unique value to our clients.”

“At LLYC, we always strive for excellence. I am confident that the new roles of Jorge, Iñaki, and Pablo will enable us to adopt an organizational and business model that makes us an even more competitive strategic consulting firm to cater to the needs of our clients,” expressed Alejandro Romero, Partner and Global CEO of the firm. “This will help us tackle the challenges they face in today’s complex and uncertain business environment.”
