LLYC organized the Deep Digital Health Summit event with the participation of experts from leading companies in the health and technology sector, experts in digital marketing, innovation and scientific disseminators, with the aim of analyzing the trends, challenges and opportunities offered by Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) for the health sector.
The round table “Digital innovation in the healthcare sector” was moderated by Gina Rosell, with the participation of Eva Aurin, eHealth Manager at Telefónica Spain, and César Velasco, Director of Innovation at Novartis.
The participants delved into an analysis of the challenges and opportunities presented by innovation and digitalization in the healthcare sector, as well as the application of ICTs and new technologies. In addition, several pioneering and relevant projects that both companies are promoting in this field were mentioned.
“The system before the pandemic was unsustainable. We needed digitalization to make it sustainable because it allows us to put the patient at the center and send them home as soon as possible. There is a trend to use digital tools to make hospitals more efficient and effective and to try to have the patient as controlled as possible from home, which is where they recover best,” explained Eva Aurin, eHealth Manager at Telefónica Spain.
For his part, César Velasco, stressed that “the important thing is that the people who lead technological change are guided by the purpose“, and pointed out that “one of the challenges we have as citizens and as patients is to govern the healthcare system, to ensure that the system provides us with the value we need“.
