José Martínez Olmos and José Javier Castrodeza to advise public health and pharma services at LLYC

José Martínez Olmos and José Javier Castrodeza reinforce, as Senior Advisors, LLYC’s Public Affairs services specialized in healthcare. Both, former Secretaries General of Health at two different stages of the Ministry of Health, will advise companies and organizations that need to understand in depth the Spanish political and regulatory ecosystem, as well as to design Public Affairs strategies, institutional relations and advocacy focused on health and pharma projects. With public health spending exceeding 7% of GDP, this sector will be one of the most impacted by regulation due, among other issues, to the regulations in the pipeline in the European Union and the new regional governance map.

Manuela Sánchez Gómez will coordinate this specialized service, which is included in the Public Affairs area in Spain and Portugal, headed by Carlos Ruiz Mateos. It also strengthens the Global Health area led by LLYC Partner and Senior Director Georgina Rosell, who will bring her expertise in health and pharmaceutical communication strategy to the projects.

LLYC’s public affairs services specializing in health have a holistic approach and are geared towards meeting a variety of needs. These include public policy influence (anticipation and citizen listening, market access and decision-maker profiling), advocacy for change (reputation and thought leaders, alliance building and One Health), strategic planning (best practice design, organizational redesign and management training) and social conversation (data drive analysis and deep digital business). They are aimed at companies and associations whose activity is broadly related to the health sector. Among the topics of our expertise are: aging, innovation, One Health, healthy habits, emotional well-being, birth rate, digitalization, pharmaceutical package, healthcare advertising, access to medicines, chronicity and medical devices.

For Manuela Sanchez: “In an increasingly hyper-regulated and dynamic environment, a thorough understanding of the political and legal ecosystem becomes essential for companies and organizations operating in the healthcare sector. With the help of Martinez Olmos and Castrodeza, our services offer this knowledge and provide effective strategies that place value on public-private collaboration.”

“Healthcare and the healthcare industry are in a constant evolution, and it is crucial for companies and associations related to this sector to stay abreast of trends and changes in public policy. At LLYC, we are committed to providing comprehensive strategic support, from anticipating policies to implementing innovative solutions, to help companies and associations make a positive impact in the healthcare arena,” states José Martínez Olmos.

Carlos Ruiz Mateos, Senior Director of Public Affairs at LLYC in Spain and Portugal says: “Our firm has stood out in the market thanks to its strategic specialization in Public Affairs. We have accumulated extensive experience in the healthcare ecosystem, advising on top-level projects, including the review of the NHS service portfolio, the implementation of digital health policies, and the corporate positioning of Big Pharma companies, as well as the promotion of scientific innovation and product financing issues in the social debate.”
