September 7 will be a key date for Spanish sport, as the International Olympic Committee (IOC) will decide which city will host the 2020 Olympics.
Despite facing competitors such as Istanbul and Tokyo, Madrid has shown its outstanding qualities to become the next Olympic city. Not only thanks to its experience and infrastructure –over a decade working to consolidate its candidacy–, but especially thanks to the commitment and motivation of its citizens.
Spain is and has been a historically relevant Olympic scenario, which has already shown its capacity to become an Olympic venue. Now, if it finally receives this opportunity for 2020, Madrid will not disappoint. Its organizational capacity, professionalism and optimism will be the main factors to achieve it: “Madrid 2020: The time has come”.
