Justice in Latin America is an essential pillar upholding development. Despite its low level of acceptance and credibility among citizens, who see justice as another element favoring corruption, justice is still the greatest asset for social and economic improvement. It is necessary to undertake reforms in order to provide the judicial system with firmness and credibility.
The training of Judges who are able to maintain final judgements regardless of whom they are judging is essential. To achieve this all state institutions, from Universities to Courts should collaborate.
This report drawn up by Developing Ideas analyses the causes of the weakening of the judicial system in Latin America and stresses the possible reforms that should be implemented in order to make Justice an incorruptible and strong system.
