As part of the 4th edition of the La Vara Awards, a space that recognises creativity, innovation and excellence in business communication in Central America and the Caribbean, Renata Sanchez, Director of Corporate Affairs in LLYC’s Santo Domingo office, presented three pioneering initiatives that reflect LLYC ‘s commitment to diversity and the positive impact of technology: Rainbot, The Purple Check and Free the Voices.

These initiatives, part of the Tech4Diversity programme, highlight how artificial intelligence can help address social challenges and create transformative change:

The Purple Check applies artificial intelligence to analyse gender bias in headlines and texts related to gender-based violence, proposing alternatives that promote more equitable communication. Since its creation, it has analysed more than 226 million news and social media posts in 12 countries, bringing an objective perspective to media discourses.

Rainbot, one of the most prominent initiatives, processes over 169 million posts and transforms hateful messages towards the LGBTIQ+ community into poems celebrating diversity, demonstrating how AI can counter negativity and promote inclusive conversations.

Free the Voices has collected over 500 LGBTIQ+ voices in 12 countries, creating the first ever bank of diverse synthetic voices. This resource promotes inclusive representation in digital tools, normalising vocal diversity and combating prejudice.

In addition to the presentation of these initiatives, Renata participated in a panel moderated by Rosalía Mendoza of Ladies Wine Design Dominican Republic, alongside key industry figures such as Tanya De Poli (Founders Agency) and Ana Marroquín (RocknRolla Agency). The panel addressed how creativity and inclusion can transform commercial communication, consolidating LLYC as a reference in innovative and technological solutions with social impact.

Projects that promote diversity, inclusion and the ethical use of technology are those that transform realities, leading the way towards fairer communication and a truly inclusive society.
