Gonzalo Carranza, new Managing Director of LLYC Ecuador

LLYC, the global communications, marketing and public affairs consulting firm, appointed its Partner, Gonzalo Carranza, as the new General Manager of the Ecuadorian operation. The appointment will be effective as of January 1, 2024, with the objective of enhancing the company’s presence and capabilities in the Ecuadorian market. Carranza will accentuate LLYC’s focus on innovation, creativity and the use of exponential technologies as differential variables in the consulting services offered in the Ecuadorian market.

The executive will take over from Carlos Llanos, also a Partner at LLYC, who will assume a new role in the Latam South region within the firm, after almost six years leading the operation in Ecuador. During this period, more than 30 clients, including large Ecuadorian companies and important multinationals with local presence, have entrusted the firm with the management of their reputation and influence. In the coming weeks, both executives will work together to carry out the handover of functions.

The new CEO has more than 15 years of professional experience in the industry. He joined LLYC in 2018 as Senior Director of Corporate Communications and Consumer Engagementin Peru. A year later, he assumed the general management of LLYC in that country, where he led a team of more than 60 professionals and drove the office’s double-digit growth. Thanks to his contribution, he was named Partner of the firm in 2021. Prior to joining LLYC, Carranza had an outstanding career as a journalist and editor in major media outlets and also served as Press Manager of Banco de Credito del Peru, the country’s leading financial institution.

Carranza has led consulting projects in corporate affairs and marketing for some of the most important companies in Peru. He has participated in the design of the brand and corporate reputation strategy of one of the main holdingsfinancial institutions in Latin America, which has resulted in the development of platforms for social change and thought leadershipof regional scope. It has also accompanied the country’s leading mass consumption company in the deployment of communication of its main sustainability initiatives and proximity to the consumer. Similarly, she has led brand positioning projects and influencer marketing in sectors such as beverages, retail, technology and beauty.

She has extensive experience working on leadership and advocacy projects with business associations and civil society-driven initiatives.

In recent years, Carranza has been an influential voice in the Peruvian corporate environment during a period of political and social volatility, advising business leaders during repeated changes of presidents and congresses. His analysis of corporate activism was reflected in his participation in the book “Empresarios vs. COVID-19”, published by Penguin Random House’s Conecta imprint.
