The geopolitical awakening of the European Union has also been reflected in a number of defense initiatives. Crises in our environment and a growing perception of the risk of our security and defense dependencies have mobilized resources and political will at a pace unthinkable just a few years ago. This new facet of European integration is here to stay. The success of these initiatives will depend to a large extent on their ability to attract industry, on their added value in facilitating cooperation between the various public and private players and on their role in the orderly management of our national and collective needs. In short, of its valorization of security policy as a policy of general interest for European citizens.
In this report, our Office of Security, Defense and Aerospace brings together the main challenges and opportunities offered by this new scenario for companies. Its content is just a small sample of what the Office is already doing to improve the management and dialogue capacity of companies in the sector thanks to its skills in political intelligence, regulatory monitoring and corporate positioning. In short, the aim is that, like other companies in our European environment, in this and other sectors, they participate fully in the conversation that is developing in an area that is essential for the future of the European Union.
